In America they are often refered to as razorbacks, pineywoods, rooters and European boars. Adult males are usually solitary outside of the breeding season, but females and their offspring live in groups called sounders. Due to hunting, In Russia they were extinct in wide areas in the 1930s. More recently because of captive wild boar escaping into the wild, populations extended to as far as southern Siberia. Today, Wild boar are native across across Orlov region of Russia. This footage is filmed during snowy winter. Wolves are major predators of boars in Russia feeding on piglets.
